Digory, lives with his Uncle Andrew, aunt and his sick mother. His Uncle's a bit weird and seems to be hiding something from him. And clear instructions- he should never enter his study. Then he meets Polly, who lives nearby. She takes him to her cave- a passage along the attic which was built to connect the houses.
